This week I created my very own podcast using SoundCloud! I especially enjoyed the exploration of podcasting this week and am astounded at how easy it was to create my own podcast. Learning to find and create podcasts has allowed me to develop my own digital literacy. Having never used tools like this before, I was able to expand my personal learning environment and my personal learning network immensely! SoundCloud has a huge database of information, from songs to podcasts, all of which can be easily created and shared among users. I see using SoundCloud to be a great opportunity to both collaborate and create! SoundCloud is a tool I will be adding to my Personal Learning Environment mind map and I can't wait to use it in the future both to learn and to create my own content!
In addition to building upon my own digital literacy and knowledge of online tools that can support my learning, I also gained even more insight into how digital responsibility could be incorporated into my learning this week. In the CNN video I watched on podcasting in order to learn more about it, it is mentioned that anyone can create a podcast and that this can be both good and bad. For example, if someone were to post a podcast misinforming the public about a certain topic or even using someone else's work and claiming it as their own. However, those who decide to post truthful and informative podcasts allow us to enhance our knowledge for free and with ease which is a major positive and benefit to podcasts!
After completing the Google Docs presentation on digital communication and realizing how this type of communication can cause major overlap between ones personal and professional life, I felt it was necessary to express what I learned in my podcast! I hope you enjoy listening to it (CLICK HERE to listen to my very own podcast)!
Also, I encourage anyone new to podcasts to watch the CNN news cast on podcasting! It helped build background knowledge for me as a new user to podcasting. Check it out by clicking HERE.
Thanks for reading!
