VoiceThread
Exploring VoiceThread this week really opened my eyes to how I can utilize online tools for verbal communication and collaboration with others. I had never heard of VoiceThread so it took some exploration and online research for me to become more familiar with the tool. When one thinks of online tools, very rarely does verbal communication come to mind. I personally have never used my microphone on my laptop and find myself resorting to text and e-mails for daily communication with friends, family and even co-workers. I liked the verbal aspect of VoiceThread a lot because I think verbal communication is missing from a lot of the digital tools I have explored through this course.
For my own personal learning, I can see myself using this tool to create projects or presentations with others or idea sharing with others. I think VoiceThread would fit into my PLE (Personal Learning Environment) nicely as a collaboration tool and even as a compilation tool. As I mentioned in previous blog posts, I do find on-line collaboration to be much easier than in person collaboration. The only catch with this was the lack of verbal communication! Now that I have discovered VoiceThread, I can have the best of both worlds in one amazing online tool! Not only can I work with others online to collaborate on group work, but I can do so verbally. I can also now utilize my under-utilized microphone on my laptop (something which I thought I would never get to do!).
I encourage my readers to check out the VoiceThread below to begin learning more about VoiceThread! If you are already familiar with VoiceThread, than I still encourage you to check out the VoiceThread below to learn more about Digital Rights and Responsibilities! Thanks for reading!
